Afterschool Programs
ASAS Partner School we are now able to provide a comprehensive after school program for approximately 4 hours each week in addition to the four hours of academic Supplemental Educational Services (SES) some students receive. We have designed our schedule to reflect student interests and expand their out of school time programming options. ASAS programming includes purposeful activities such as:
True Star
Publishes the Matador Magazine and the Barton School Yearbook
Little Black Pearl
Multi Media Art Program - Students create artwork using the multi media arts of digital photography, paint, magazines, poster boards, found objects, etc. combining different art mediums to create a collaborative masterpiece.
African/Caribbean Dance
Students perform African and Caribbean dances and learn the about the country of origin of the dances as well as the meaning of the dances they perform.
Middle School Debate
Middle School students compete city-wide against other schools while improving their linguistic and social skills.
