Barton Offers After School Academic, Athletic and Enrichment Programs

Supplemental Education Services (SES)
SES provides additional academic instruction, specifically in reading, math, and science outside of the regular school day to increase the academic achievement of students. SES is available to all low-income students (based on the free/reduced lunch standard). Students receive this service at no cost to the parent/guardian or school. SES programs are offered by private tutoring companies and the district. SES serves grades first to twelfth, and is also available to Special Education students.

Robert Morris University Educational Talent Search (ETS)
The Robert Morris University Educational Talent Search program enhances, promotes, and teaches the skills needed to succeed in school while at the same time assisting students in reaching academic goals and achievements. In addition to helping them choose educational programs that will prepare them to meet their career goals, the ETS program is able to provide individualized attention in addition to that which is given at Barton. This includes:

  • One-on-one academic and personal counseling
  • Tutoring
  • Mentoring
  • College Tours
  • Career Planning

National Black Child Development Institute – Entering the College Zone
Clara Barton has partnered with The National Black Child Development Institute’s Entering the College Zone (ECZ). ECZ is an intervention/prevention program that empowers middle school students to achieve the goal of higher education, while motivating their parents to take an active role in furthering their children’s education. NBCDI recognizes the need to give every child a chance to realize their career aspirations. Through workshops on academic and financial preparation, students and parents alike learn what they can do to ensure college is part of the students’ future.

After School All Stars
ASAS Partner Schools provide a comprehensive after school program for approximately 4 hours each week in addition to the four hours of academic Supplemental Educational Services (SES) some students receive.
